The Project
Nerrols Grange development is a dual branded site for Barrat Homes and David Wilson Homes. David Wilson Homes site comprises of a total of 150. The 178 units comprises of 111 open market houses and 59 affordable units. The site is overlooks the Quantock hills and forms part of a vibrant new community surrounded by 6 acres of open space. Nerrols Grange is a development of 2, 3 ,4 & 5 bedroom homes in Taunton. The new development is a 10minute drive to Taunton town centre and benefits from large play areas and allotments.
The Process
SJP Architectural Consultants Ltd were engaged and appointed to prepare the technical drawings for construction. The client used their standard house type range throughout this site, so our brief was to adapt the range to suit what had been approved at planning.
We always undertake a collaborative approach to ensure we provide a complete technical drawing package. Whilst there were no bespoke elements required for this site we ensured that all technical information was added to the drawings for construction. This included updating the working drawings to conform with SAPs, acoustic mitigation reports, and ecological mitigation. We were required to liaise with suppliers and check and implement third party information as required. This included jet floor systems, joist designs, truss designs and other items such as staircases.
SJP Architectural consultants delivered the full detailed technical drawings within the client’s deadlines. Throughout the process we were engaged with the client and provided necessary feedback when required. To complete the full technical working drawing package, we included bespoke detailing which was required for combined plots with varying roof designs.
